Renewables: Wind & Solar
Wind and solar supply chains combine very large castings and forgings with high-volume structural fabrication, under relentless cost-down pressure.
The context
Scale changes the economics.
Hubs, main frames and bearing housings are among the largest castings made, and rings and shafts among the largest forgings. Few suppliers can pour, forge or machine at that size, and each of them prices capacity as much as steel.
Mounting structures and trackers are the opposite: high-volume roll-formed and fabricated steel, where nesting, coating and logistics decide the cost. Both need the same discipline: know what the part should cost, know who can really make it, and manage the industrialisation.
Where we help
The work we do in Renewables: Wind & Solar.
Large casting and forging should-cost
Pour and input weight, yield, machining allowance and capacity pricing.
Capability and capacity audits
Furnace, press, heat-treatment and machining capacity demonstrated, not claimed.
Structures and mounting systems
Section choice, nesting, coating and fastener content costed at volume.
Coating and corrosion specification
Specification challenged against the environment the part actually sees.
India sourcing
Indian castings, forgings and structures qualified for export programmes.
Logistics and landed cost
Freight, handling and site delivery costed into the sourcing decision.
The same categories, other industries
Sheet metal, forgings, castings, machining and electrical components serve all of these.
The process is the same; the standards, volumes and approvals change. Our specialists work across every industry below.
